It was very confusing trying to understand this collection, it looks like it is part of a serie of books published, written by Henry Thomas Buckle. The Sublime in Flagellation & The Dance of Madame Birchini, with original anecdotes collected in social circles. Translated into French for the first time from the original editions collected by Henry Thomas Buckle, author of the History of Civilization in England. It seemed there are 16 artworks, I only managed to find four. Published in 1909 if I am not mistaken.
The album was added to Illustrated Books, should I find more then I will create a seperate page for the book/serie. Members can also view it below.
