    L' Avatar de Lucette was written by James Lovebirch and published for the first time in 1913 by Librairie Artistique et Édition Parisienne réunies and republished in 1925. It was illustrated by Lewis Bald but also by Gaston Smit. The illustrations from Lewis Bald were used before in the book La Villa des bouleaux, published in 1909. A sequel was published as Peggy Briggs (1913).

    The book was banned by the Criminal Court of Seine 17th chamber May 14, 1954.
